What do I mean by that?
Well it’s simple, When negative effects of burning tobacco started to come to light, big tobacco hid it or at a minimum sugar coated it. Heck, the burning tobacco industry still holds steady to the claim that it does not cause cancer. They acknowledge that their contents are carcinogenic though…..er huh? If you would like to see more about how big tobacco has failed us as a responsible vendor Click Here for a really informative PDF. But health effects are not the only negative scars the burning tobacco industry has left on our world.
Pictures like the one to the right here are not hard to come by, unfortunately. Cigarette butts are considered to be the number one littered item not only in the USA but across the entire world. Take a look at this table below to see how cigarette butts compare to other types of litter. The table is courtesy of kab.org. KAB stands for Keeping America Beautiful, and they have a very information filled site if you would like to check it out.
I think we can all agree that this is an issue, but how do we plan on avoiding this issue and not repeating history? I mean our product does have a disposable cartridge. If it ends up on the ground as litter, this metal based litter will be even worse for the world than burning tobacco butts. It’s not a pretty fact, but it is true. We are dedicated to the truth, not to looking pretty on paper.
So we came up with a plan, and we think you are going to like this.
Our plan is to give real incentives to people to promote recycling, and not just “Hey you should do this” type incentive either. Nope, we do all the work, and we take care of the recycling. We keep them out of landfills and off streets. You earn money.
Yep, you heard me right! You get to feel good about not destroying the environment, and you make $$. Not just in store credit either, you can get you money in actual cash right at the store, right away.
How? Easy, you just bring us all of your used up garbage cartridge refills, then we pay you 5 cents each. So, 20 Cartridges = $1. You then have the option to use that amount towards your next purchase or get it back in cash on the spot. We know it’s not a lot, but try to bring your cigarette butts back to the store you bought them at and see how much cash they give you in return for them. Most likely you will get a few glares and such, but not cash.
So there it is, our plan to not repeat history. We think it’s a good one, but it still requires our customers to bring these used up cartridges back into the stores. So far it has been a huge success! ⇓
We have 100’s of thousands of refillable cartridges ⇑ that are already on their way to the recycling stations, with more being added everyday! Thank you to every one of our customers who have brought us their used up cartridges. It is important to note that we did not increase the cost of our product by 5 cents to cover this. We started offering this without pushing the cost off onto our customers. Why? Because that’s how a responsible vendor should be. Aware of the impact they have on the world around them and willing to think and problem solve to reduce whatever negative comes their direction. That is how we roll here at A Clean Cigarette!
