As you all know we have had quite a few bumps in the road this past year. Unfortunately, we will NOT be able to sell A Clean Cigarette products after September 9, 2020 due to government regulations from the FDA.
We are currently transitioning to new products that we will not be offering online. Please continue to visit us at one of our 8 Michigan store locations to see the new products that we have available! We are also open longer hours at most of our stores to serve you better.

On to today’s topic.
We know there is a lot of information out there regarding electronic cigarettes in general. When a product is as new as electronic cigarettes there tends to be a lot going on regarding it. When there is a lot going on, there is a lot of confusion. A a whole A Clean Cigarette is a passionate group of people who just really want to get our product out to the world where it can be the useful tool it was deigned to be. As a whole we are not politicians though, and right now there is a lot of politics surrounding Electronic Cigarettes. With that in mind we decided to call in back up on the political front, and we are glad we did!
Enter Scott Everett, the amazing lobbyist who is helping us navigate the political waters. Scott has been helping to lead us through the political waters since 2014.
One of the main things Scott keeps telling us is that we need to help inform the population of all the activity taking place at the state level.
If you would like to hear Scott talk about the 3 bills regarding electronic cigarettes that are currently happening in Lansing, Click the image of our capitol building. Help us to help you keep your right to upgrade your nicotine delivery systems with out having to pay the sin tax that burning tobacco currently pays. If you have made the switch then you truly understand you are not smoking. By the way, Michigan law defines smoking like this: “Smoking” or “smoke” means the burning of a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe, or any other matter or substance that contains a tobacco product” Obviously, there is nothing burning in an electronic cigarette. That simple fact means you are not smoking, at least according to Michigan law.
We at A Clean Cigarette think it is unfair that after the battle to switch off of tobacco, which is something law makers have been telling us we need to do for years, we are going to be taxed with a sin tax NOT designed for this product. On the other hand, we are behind the bill to limit the sale of this product to 18+ years old. It is a bit confusing to us though that in Michigan right now even a 4 year old can legally by E-cigs. (Not at A Clean Cigarette though! We do not need a law to tell us how bad that would be for our communities and families.) Why is our capitol more interested in focusing on the Tax part of this new product then the underage sale part of this product, IF the welfare of children is their main concern about this product?
That’s a fair question and if you want answers please feel free to get a hold of your state and local politicians for answers. If you need help finding your government officials just click the picture of the cigarette pack.
