Dawn here, bringing you all things related to electronic cigarettes with your best source for e-cig information. This blog is designed to keep reliable, informative and entertaining news posted that is easy to find for all our
A Clean Cigarette customers. Some days that information is rough, things like exploding batteries and nicotine poisoning in children. I know topics like those need reported on but they are certainly not topics that I enjoy. Some days like today though, the news is amazing and exciting!
So what is this amazing and exciting news? Well you may have guessed by the title it has something to do with electronic cigarette use in hospitals, and you would be right. You may remember that not long ago Public Health England reported that electronic cigarettes may be up to 95% less harmful than smoking. Well it seems that the waves this report made are still going strong and are having a heavy impact on the way other health organizations are looking at electronic cigarettes. Keep in mind most of those waves are still in England, but that is starting to change and now we are seeing the waves rippling in other European Nations as well! We have faith that the impact of this report will start to have real effects on the US health care systems soon.
Okay, so back to the title of this blog and the good news I keep hinting at. Check out this headline from Scotland and you will see what has me so excited today:
Pretty cool eh? I thought so.
According to this article on the Herald Scotland e-cigarettes were banned at this hospital; “However, the board is to revise its policy following new research about e-cigarettes which found that they are 95% less harmful than smoking.” The article has a lot more to say on the topic too with quotes like “It is clear from research carried out by Public Health England, ourselves and others that e-cigarettes do have their place in the fight against tobacco and are being used effectively to help people stop smoking altogether.” and that “Based on the emergence of new evidence, a review of the NHSGGC Smoke Free Policy position on e-cigarettes is timely and would improve consistency between the use of e-cigarettes within NHS grounds and the e-cig friendly approach being recommended for cessation services.”
We at A Clean Cigarette have been very excited about the PHE report since it came out. We can only hope that the waves it is creating keep up their momentum. This report is one of the best things that has happened for the e-cigarette industry since the release of the massive systematic review on electronic cigarette.
