Lung Cancer: The truths that we need to know about this deadly and devastating issue.

CleanCigaretteLogo(12Well hello out there Dawn here again, and I am so glad you are here! Today’s blog is not a fun subject, but it is a subject we need to talk about anyway. Tobacco related disease and cancer is something that effects most of us in some form. Whether it is ourselves or a loved one, the experience of watching someone go through this is terrible, tragic and incredibly drawn-out. It is also avoidable.

Smoking, a main cause of small cell and non-small cell lung cancer, contributes to 80 percent and 90 percent of lung cancer deaths in women and men, respectively. Men who smoke are 23 times more likely to develop lung cancer. Women are 13 times more likely, compared to never smokers.

That does not mean that lung disease is completely avoidable, just that burning tobacco related versions are. The thing is MOST cases of lung cancer or lung disease are burning tobacco related. In fact according to the American Lung Association, up to 90% of cases are burning tobacco related! That’s Huge. Lung cancer is also the deadliest form of cancer. Take a look at the image to the left and you can clearly see that lung cancer is more deadly then the next top 3 cancers combined. That may seem like bad news, but the thing is 80 to 90% of these cases are avoidable.

How? By putting down burning tobacco. It’s that “simple”.

Except it really isn’t “simple” for most people at all.

If everyone could just not smoke anymore, go cold turkey and be done with it, most of us would. I mean who wants to die an early and painful death? Unfortunately the truth is that addiction to nicotine is so incredibly strong that most of us have seen this person ⇓ or someone like him in our lifetime. Literally dying while still puffing on a burning tobacco tar and cancer filled cigarette.

Very few of us have not seen someone like this. A friend, a parent, a family member, and if you are one of the unlucky ones who have seen this then you know how hard it is to witness.  Lung cancer slowly takes people from us while we have to watch them battle for their last breaths. It is truly heartbreaking.

The devastation of this mostly avoidable disease is massive, but there are things that we can do to help. The most important thing is exactly what I am doing with this blog, educating others. People need to know that there are options available for nicotine delivery besides the tar ridden, cancer stick we call burning tobacco.  Feel free to share this blog around to help with the education! It may be a life saving decision.

We understand that much like alcohol, cocaine or heroin, nicotine is very addictive.  It also tends to be soothing and a mood stabilizer. Nicotine is one of the only drugs that is reported to be both an upper and a downer all at the same time. So it relaxes and motivates us all at once. The feelings associated with nicotine may be a large part of what attracts people to it in the first place.

dyingNicotine is the primary reason that you see people like the one pictured above. If we were not so addicted to nicotine we would not be smoking burning tobacco even when it has effects on us like the lady pictured to our left here in this warning advertisement. It is reported that the lady pictured was named Barb, and Barb died at the ripe old age of just 42 That’s the problem! It’s not like you have forever to make the switch off burning tobacco. 42 years should be just getting started, not the end of the story. So do it before it is too late.

Unfortunately, the chances of someone surviving lung cancer are not good. Lets take a look at another chart provided by the American Lung Association. This chart shows what a person’s chances would be for even a 5 year life span depending on what stage of cancer they are currently in. It is a little on the older side as far as dates go, but I think it gets the point it is trying to make across regardless of that fact.

I know this is a very unpleasant subject, but there is some good news. If you get off the burning tobacco, you give your lungs the chance to heal. Unlike the heart and other organs, the lungs can heal themselves if given time to do so. That’s amazing news, but you have to put the burning tobacco down.

One option to accomplish this is to SWITCH to A Clean Cigarette brand electronic cigarettes. Keep the nicotine, while getting rid of the tar and 4000+ chemicals that are found in burning tobacco. It is important to note that nothing you inhale besides clean air is GOOD for you, but we already know how bad burning tobacco is so……

Although nicotine is not good for you, even the FDA knows it is not the main problem with burning tobacco.

If you would like information on updating your nicotine delivery systems we want to help. Just check out out our webpage at acleancigarette.com or you can browse through this blog. It is FULL of great information to help you really understand your options before you decide what is best for you. I also feel it is important that I tell you the BEST thing you can do for yourself is to quit ALL nicotine delivery systems. That’s right, even though we sell e-cigs we understand that nothing you inhale is good for you. If that is a real option for you, go for it. If you are one of the millions of people addicted to nicotine, we offer an updated 21st century version of a nicotine delivery system. Just think of it as changing brands, and sometimes change is good.

Our products do come with a nicotine walk down option that many of our customers have reported worked well for them as a tool to step off of nicotine altogether, but the device itself is designed to deliver nicotine only, not treat or diagnose any issues. Someday we hope to be able to market it differently, but we agree with the FDA that more research needs to be done before that day comes. Click Here to see what we are doing on that front, and Here to see what information is available out there already. You can also click Here to see what some doctors are saying about electronic cigarettes.

DSC_0111As always thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog. I am sorry today’s blog was on such serious subject matter.
