Hello! Dawn here yet again! I am glad to be here and very glad that you are stopping in to read this blog. I appreciate every single click this blog gets and really hope that the contents are not only informative but also interesting. After nearly a year and a half and 198 blog post (this one makes 199!), we have talked a lot in regards to burning tobacco and the electronic cigarette industry. In an effort to keep it interesting around here I am constantly on the look out for new content and current events to write about. Some days it’s really easy, tons of articles and information that needs passing on just kinda fall into my lap. Other days however, I find myself looking around the internet and other sources in an effort to find topics.
I mean let’s be honest here, you readers don’t want another blog about how bad cigarettes are or how terrible tar is. Not that those are not really great topics, but most of us smokers are very aware of those two facts. If you do want information on either of those topics Click HERE or HERE. But, again most of us know that burning tobacco is the deadliest consumer product on the market. and frankly, we are tired of hearing about it.
In fact, we as smokers are tired of a lot of things. Things like being made to feel like write off’s. We are tired of feeling like we are not worth options because we smoke, so we “do it to ourselves”. We are tired of being made out to be the villain, the victim and the fool all at the same time. We are tired of hearing non-smokers and even some ex-smokers tell us to “just quit”.
It’s not that most of us disagree. Yes, “just quitting” sounds like a great idea. However, that’s not really an option for the 1 out of 10 people that are truly addicted. If it were as simple as “just quitting” then we would never see people dying and on oxygen from smoking related illness, while still reaching for a cigarette.
I mean let’s break it down.
If a doctor told me that every time I wore red socks, it would take time off of my life; I would stop wearing red socks. Wouldn’t you? Okay, but socks are not deadly and this is a bit of a stretch from something that happens in real life. So let’s bring it back to an example that is a bit more realistic.
At one time people used lead paint on nearly everything. We painted walls, windows, heck even cribs and toddler toys with lead paint. Now keep in mind that lead paint is not addictive. So when we as a populous learned that lead paint is poison and could feasibly be harming not only ourselves but our children, we stopped. We did not just stop using lead base paint either, we enacted programs and organizations to help remove all the lead paint that was anywhere near us. And if we find out that our homes our water sources have lead contamination in any way….we obliterate it. That makes sense though right? Lead is bad, so stop using lead!
Lead is bad, so stop using lead! Most of us have.
Most of us have.
So when we found out that burning tobacco is WAY worse than lead and is not only harming us, AND our children it’s killing us that should be a huge deal. right? There is no question that second-hand smoke is nearly as dangerous as direct contact and it’s rarely a matter of IF a smoker will get a smoking related illness. It’s more a matter of WHEN it will happen. So “just quit” right?
Smoking is bad, so stop smoking! Most of us have tried.
Most of us have tried.
The difference is that unlike lead, nicotine is addictive. So even though we addicted smokers know that it’s bad for us and know that it’s bad for our loved ones, we can’t “just quit”. If we could….we would.
Now I know that at least a few people are rolling their eyes at this post. They are saying if smokers really WANTED to quit they would. But we can see from the lead example that when just quitting something to save our health and more importantly the health of our loved ones is possible, most of us do.
So if “quitting” is not possible for everyone, but we do not want to keep puffing on tar filled burning tobacco, what options do we have? Unfortunately before now the options were limited to none. Times they are a changing though. Now smokers have options. Real options. Now smokers can update the way that addictive nicotine is delivered. And I have.
I have not beaten my nicotine addiction. For me, that may never be a reality and to be fair, I like my nicotine. It keeps me mellow and helps me focus. That being said, I have cut out nearly 600 other ingredients, tar and carbon monoxide from my nicotine habit. I no longer need to lite tobacco on fire and inhale all of the burning pesticides and chemicals that are created when things are burning.
In fact, I was so excited that I finally had a real option, that I decided to seek employment here at A Clean Cigarette. And not only did I decide to join the A Clean Cigarette team, I committed to researching every aspect of this industry and then sharing that information with other smokers looking for options. Making it a point to pay special attention to what FACTS are coming out about this option. For better or worse. Turns out though that there is not a whole lot of “or worse” to share. At least not when comparing electronic cigarettes to burning tobacco.
There are studies that show that e-cigarettes are not as healthy as clean air. And A Clean Cigarette agrees! If you are not a current smoker, starting an electronic cigarette would make as much sense as searching vintage shops for lead-based paint to restore your child’s crib. Electronic cigarettes contain nicotine, nicotine is addictive.
However if you DO currently smoke, and you have tried the “just quit” option with no success. There is now an option. It’s time to update nicotine delivery systems. It’s time to take your habit into your own hands. It’s time to stop being looked at as write-offs and start using 21st-century technology to do more than post pictures of cute animals and funny memes. (although I am a strong supporter of cute animal post so keep them coming as well!!)
New customers will be pleased to know that the web store has a new customer portal that asks questions and helps you find the best fit for you. Our goal is to match the taste and feel of your traditional burning tobacco cigarette while helping you smoke clean with A Clean Cigarette.
Well. I have done it again, I always say I will keep these blogs short. I promise myself that I will stick to under 600 words. Here I am at word number 1270! So on that note, I will thank you very much again for visiting this blog and bid you a wonderful day! Rock and Roll good people!
