As you all know we have had quite a few bumps in the road this past year. Unfortunately, we will NOT be able to sell A Clean Cigarette products after September 9, 2020 due to government regulations from the FDA.
We are currently transitioning to new products that we will not be offering online. Please continue to visit us at one of our 8 Michigan store locations to see the new products that we have available! We are also open longer hours at most of our stores to serve you better.
We want to take this time to THANK YOU personally, it’s been our pleasure to serve you over the years, we consider you not only as friends, but FAMILY. Please accept our deepest apologies for this.
What an amazing day here at A Clean Cigarette!! Really, to be fair, it is an amazing day for the entire electronic cigarette industry! Hello all Dawn here and if you can not tell, I am really excited about today’s topic! So what’s got me so giddy?
Well today the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), which is a super respected group of health professionals put out a 200 page report. According to this amazing, spectacular and just plain rocking report Electronic cigarettes not only help people quit smoking, they are saving lives. So much so that according to this report doctors should be encouraged to promote electronic cigarette use to their smoking patients! WOW!
Before we go further I need to apologize for all the !!! I am putting in this blog, but the fact is I am that excited and truly can not help myself. Okay, back to the topic.
It is important to note that this report is specifically designed to speak directly to Doctors and other health officials. So keep that in mind when reading the information below!
So let’s take a look at this document and see for ourselves what it has to say…..
The entire thing rocks, it starts out with a nice forward from Prof. Jane Dacre, the president of RCP. Of particule note is her very last paragraph, take a look for yourself:
“This report therefore aims to provide a fresh update on the use of harm
reduction in tobacco smoking, in relation to all non-tobacco nicotine products
but particularly e-cigarettes. It concludes that, for all the potential risks involved,
harm reduction has huge potential to prevent death and disability from tobacco
use, and to hasten our progress to a tobacco-free society. With careful
management and proportionate regulation, harm reduction provides an
opportunity to improve the lives of millions of people. It is an opportunity that,
with care, we should take.”
Professor Jane Dacre
President, Royal College of Physicians
We could not have said it better ourselves! Way to go Professor! And this is just in the first few pages! Now let’s look at a few quotes from the rest of the document. Like I said, it is 200 pages long so instead of posting the whole thing I will put some of the best parts here, but will include a link to the download for the report itself. HERE.
I am not done with the quotes yet but before I continue I feel it is important to mention that back in October of last year another health group out of the UK, Public Health England released a report that stated “Electronic cigarettes are 95% less harmful than burning tobacco”. The reason I want to remind you about that report is it is directly related to the next quote. If you want more information on the PHE report click HERE. Alright back to the quotes.
“After some delay the tobacco industry is now engaging in the e-cigarette market, and the possible reasons for doing so include:
• “promotion of low-efficacy products that are likely to fail and hence minimise the threat to tobacco sales”
• “use of intellectual property rights to bring legal challenges against competitors”
• “ensuring a share in the emerging e-cigarette market to harness a new, disruptive technology”
• “using these products to sustain tobacco smoking by promoting them as a complement rather than an alternative to tobacco”
• “using the products also to promote smoking through advertising and promotion to adults and children”
• “attracting customers who currently use competitors’ tobacco products”
• “creating justification to re-engage with policymakers, hence undermining the WHO FCTC (Article 5.3)
• “exploiting harm reduction to build credibility in corporate social responsibility initiatives”
All there is left to say is WOW!!!! This is amazing! Basically this is telling Doctors that traditional NRT’s do not work as well as electronic cigarettes and that e-cigs should not only be endorsed by doctors, they should be promoted! and again I say…………WOW!!
